This show will be the 180th show to take place in Suffolk. The Hadleigh show offers a range of different events ensuring a wonderful day out for all the family.


When?

Saturday May 18th 2019

Gates open at 8.00am – last entry 4.30pm


Where?

The event will take place at Holbecks Park, Hadleigh, just a few hundred yards from the High Street (signposted from Hadleigh town centre). The show is based in a gorgeous parkland setting, surrounded by the beautiful countryside, the show aims to celebrate all aspects of country living.


How much are tickets?

- Advanced, discounted tickets can be purchased for the show either online or via patriating outlets – available until 6pm on Friday 17thMay.

What’s on?

Archery

- A ‘have a go stand’ – run by the Sudbury Tudor Archers – great fun for all the family

Funfair

- Great range of entertainment for children of all ages

- Includes Carousel, bouncy castle, hook the duck and helter skelter, and of course – lots of candy floss.

Poultry Trent

- Great opportunity for locals to compare the number of different breeds and their eggs first hand!

- This event is open to all ages to discover different shapes, sizes, and colours of poultry on display

- Run by the Colchester Poultry Club

Flower and Horticulture

- This year’s theme – ‘The Showground’ with this tent offering many impressive displays across various categories.

- Come for a stroll in the calm enjoyable environment among other popular visitors.

Art Exhibition and sale

- Offering first class exhibition of local art work and sculpture

- Aesthetically pleasing for visitors with the added opportunity to take their favourite pieces home!

Big Pete and the Grim Reaper Monster Trucks

- The Hadleigh show promises a ‘Jaw dropping show’ with their amazing car crushing skills

- This event is the chance to watch two “real Monster Trucks at work” jumping 15ft high, over cars and mass destruction.

Clay Pigeon Shoot

- Located above the actual show ground, refer to the map for directions.

- 1pm start with 4 stands of 10 Sporting ‘Birds’

- £10 per round

- Additional cartridges can be purchased but a Shotgun licence is required.

Cookery Demonstrations

- This show features demonstrations from Mark David ‘The cooking experience’, Hadleigh

- Alongside a selection of local chefs, Mark will be cooking ‘mouth-watering’ dishes from a plethora of recipes served throughout the day.

- If you are seeking culinary inspiration, this show might be for you!

Education tent

- With this year’s theme of ‘Your Sunday Roast’, this tent gives children the opportunity to learn where their favourite foods come from.

- Situated next to ‘The Countryside Ring’

- There are lots of hands on activities including craft stations.

- Local schools will also have their artwork on display.

Gun Dog Scurry

- All working dogs available, young and old!

- A must for any budding dog trainers in the area!

Livestock Rings

- A wonderful opportunity to see ‘prize winning’ cattle, sheep and goats.

- After watching all the action there is an opportunity to have a closer look at the prize winners in their pens

Rural Crafts Tent

- Providing unusual gift items for friends or treats for yourself!

- This tent offers a huge range of items

- With the majority of items are handmade and from the local area – there will be something for everyone.

Treasure Hunt

- Hadleigh Dementia Action Alliance will be hosting a free treasure hunt, perfect for all the family around the Showground.

The President’s Ring – Ring 2

- This event starts the morning off, with traditional Pony Showing, followed by Working Hunter Horse and Pony Classes.

- Additional elegant Private Driving Classes are also featured in this ring.

The Heavy Horse Ring – Ring 3 10am-1pm

- Traditional heavy horse showing classes allows everyone to get a closer look at the magnificent animals, including the endangered Suffolk Punches.

- Enables people to appreciate the sheer size and strength of these heavy horses whilst showing them off in all their glory.


What food is on offer?

- The Hadleigh show features 2 food courts with a wide range of food catering for all tastes.

- Local East Anglian companies will be serving the food throughout the day.

Real Lemonade – The Fresh Taste of Summer

- Real lemonade freshly made onsite with freshly squeezed lemons, ice, syrup and a slice, St. Clements orange and lemon, lemon and lime zing, iced lemon tea, lemon, orange, lime and mango – simply healthy!

Red’s Catering

- German sausages including bratwurst, Krakauer, chilli beef, frikadellen cooked on a tradition coal swing grill.

The Duck Truck

- Hand shredded aromatic crispy duck served in a warm tortilla with spring onion, cucumber and sweet hoisin sauce

- Delicious chips fried in duck fat for extra taste.

The Suffolk Coffee Company

- Freshly roasted ‘speciality’ coffee served to go with additional bags of beans and ground coffee for sale.
